Berry Dip and Roll

This recipe is great for children under the age of 5 to make. They will be thrilled because the final product is not a kid’s desert. It’s a desert that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

The biggest challenge for the littlest cooks is getting the sugar into the small bowl. You might wind up with sticky stuff on the floor but just chalk it up to fine tuning your child’s eye-hand coordination!

Berry Dip and Roll

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 pint of strawberries
  • 1/2 pint of sour cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 pint size resealable containers

Instructions

1

Choose the ripest strawberries you can find at the store. Strawberries don't ripen once they have been picked so try to find the reddest ones.

2

Wash and gently pat the berries dry with a paper towel. Cut off the green leaves at the top.

3

Put the strawberries into one container. Put the cinnamon and brown sugar in the other container.

4

When you get to the picnic, open the containers, dip the berries in the sour cream then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mix.

5

Take a bite. It really does taste like strawberry cheese cake!
