The Perfect Hard-Boiled Egg

Whether it's the perfect Easter Egg or eggs for deviled eggs, egg salad or just to pop in the lunch box, here's the Spatulatta: cooking 4 kids online :: recipe for the perfect boiled egg. You'll need

  • Eggs
  • Water
  • 1 tsp of vinegar (this helps clean the egg shells and make them perfect for dying with store- bought dye tablets. If you are just making eggs for eating or salad you can leave the vinegar out.)
  • A stainless steel or enamel pan
  1. Put eggs in a single layer at the bottom of the pan. Use a pan where the eggs are surrounded by water.  Try not to use too large a pan so it will take less time and energy to bring the water to a boil.
  2. Pour in enough cool water to cover the eggs.
  3. Add vinegar (if needed).
  4. Bring the water to a rapid boil.
  5. Turn the heat off and wait 25 minutes. The eggs will continue to cook.
