Frozen Chocolate Bananas

You will need:

  • 3 large bananas
  • 1 large bar of chocolate
  • A microwavable bowl we found that an oval one works best
  • Craft sticks or skinny wooden forks
  • Wax paper
  1. Peel the bananas and sliced them roughly in half.
  2. Starting with the cut end of the banana, push a craft stick AKA (also known as) a Popsicle stick into one of the half banana pieces. You want to try to get the stick to move right up through the center of the banana so it will stay on the stick. Repeat with the other half bananas.
  3. When you have all your bananas on sticks, place them gently in a plastic bag and put them in the freezer for about 2 hours.
  4. When the bananas are frozen through and through, you can make the chocolate coating. Take the bar of chocolate and break it into pieces. Put the pieces into the microwavable dish.
  5. Put the chocolate in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Watch it closely because chocolate melts from the inside out in the microwave. So you won¹t see the edges melting like you do with butter. Chocolate can keep its shape and keep its shape and then suddenly it starts to burn. If you need to heat the chocolate some more, do it 10 seconds at a time.
  6. When the chocolate is melted spread it around with a spoon to get all the lumps out.
  7. Lay out a sheet of waxed paper.
  8. Roll your frozen bananas in the chocolate. The coldness of the banana will make the chocolate harden into a shell. When you have coated the whole banana lay it on the waxed paper. Repeat.
  9. When your bananas are all coated, fold the wax paper over them and put them back in the freezer for another hour.
