Wash your hands well before you start because this is a recipe
where you squish everything together.
Cut a couple sheets of wax paper or aluminum foil. Put one
on a plate and have the other waiting off to the side. You'll
need this to keep the burgers from sticking together.
Put the ground meat into a big bowl. You want to have enough
room for all the ingredients and your hands.
Add all the other ingredients.
Using your hands, mix all the ingredients. The fun part is
that you can squeeze the meat through your fingers. Keep this
up until everything is evenly mixed.
Grab a big handful of the mixture, roll and pat it into a
burger shape. You can make them thick or thin but remember the
thicker they are, the longer they take to cook.
Lay the burgers down on the wax paper on the plate. When you
have filled the plate, lay the second sheet of wax paper and
put the rest of the burgers on top. You can add more layers
if you need them.
Now your burgers are ready to grill or broil. You'll need
help with this part. Remember that "please help me"
and "thank you for helping me" have a magic power
to make everything in the kitchen go smoothly.
If mom or dad let's you help flipping the burgers, a spatula
with a long handle is the best tool to use. You can slide the
edge of it between the burger and the grill. Short, sharp motions
will help loosen any places that are sticking. Once you have
the burger on the spatula, give it a quick flip.
