Three-Cheese Tortellini with
Multi-Colored PeppersMother's Day is day set aside to let mom, step-mom, grandma or any one you want to let know how much you appreciate their love and guidance.
Barilla's executive chef Lorenzo Boni shows Liv and Belle a quick and easy recipe that will make Mom feel really special.
We chose Barilla Tortellini because they have no presevatives and their taste is authentically Italian.
Makes 4-6 servings
You'll need:
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 small onion - finely diced
- 1 orange sweet pepper - diced
- 1 yellow sweet pepper - diced
- 1 red sweet pepper - diced
- 1 package of Barilla Three-Cheese Tortellini
- Chunk Romano cheese
- Salt and pepper
- A little adult help
Equipment:
- A large pasta or stock pot
- A colander
- A large fry pan
- A wooden spoon
- A cheese grater
- Individual serving plates
- Fill the pasta pot with water and set it to boil.
- When the water comes to a boil, add the package of Barilla Tortellini. Give the pot a stir.
- Set a timer according to the directions on the side of the package.
- While the tortellini are cooking, ask Dad to chop the onions and peppers.
- Sauté the onions in the olive oil until the are slightly brown.
- Add the colored peppers and sauté until slightly soft.
- When the tortellini are cooked, ask Dad for help to drain them. After draining, pour the hot tortellini directly into the fry pan.
- Gently mix the tortellini with the onions and peppers. Make sure all the tortellini get covered with oil
- Transfer the tortellini to your serving plates, grate some Romano cheese on top and you're done!
