Fresh Fruit Napoleon

And to end your decadent dinner, here's a relatively light dessert. If you prepare the fruit and puff pastry ahead of time, these Napoleons go together in a snap.

Makes 6-8 servings

You'll need:

  • 1 package of frozen puff pastry - defrosted
  • 1 can of whipped cream
  • 2 fresh kiwis
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries - sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
  • Some adult help

Equipment:

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • A sharp knife
  • A cutting board
  • A cookie sheet
  • Oven mitts
  • A trivet
  1. Grease cookie sheet.
  2. Cut the puff pastry into 2 by 3 inch rectangles.
  3. Place puff pastry sheets in rows in one layer, don't overlap the dough.
  4. Bake according to package directions. Take them out of the oven and let cool on the cookie sheet.
  5. Once they have cooled, layer about a tablespoon or more of whipped cream onto the top of one puff pastry.
  6. On top of the whipped cream, place the fruit and then another dollop of whipped cream.
  7. Put another puff pastry on top and repeat, but do not make too tall or it will fall over. Two or three layers of puff pastry will do for one Napoleon.
  8. Totally yummy!
